Privacy policy

What Efimera keeps, and where.

Last updated: 13 October 2026

Efimera is an app for making journals with photos, stickers and text, made by Gaetano Matonti. This page explains what data the app uses and where it goes.

In short

  • We don't collect personal data. There's no account to create.
  • We don't use advertising, analytics or tracking tools, ours or anyone else's.
  • Your journals stay on your device and in your iCloud. We can't see them.
  • Diagnostics leave your device only if you send them to us, and you can read what they contain first.

Your journals

Pages, photos, stickers and text are stored on your device and synced between your devices through your iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit private database). That data is covered by Apple's privacy policy, and we have no access to it. Without iCloud, your journals stay on the device only.

When you delete a journal, it's deleted from the device, from iCloud and from your other devices.

Sharing

If you invite people to a journal, sharing happens through iCloud: the people you invite see the journal and, as iCloud shows it, your account's name or address. We receive none of this. You can stop sharing at any time.

Photos

The app asks for access to your photo library so it can show your photos while you make a page. You can give it access to only the photos you choose. Only the photos you put on a page are copied into the journal, and your library never leaves your device. If you export a page, the app asks for permission to add it to your photo library.

Diagnostics

From the shelf menu you can choose "Send diagnostics". It opens an email to us with a few files attached, which you can read before deciding whether to send it. They contain: the app version, your device's model and system version, the state of iCloud and sync, how many journals and stickers you have, free space, recent errors the app logged, and the crash and slowdown reports the system provides (MetricKit). They don't contain what's in your journals: no titles, text, photos or stickers.

If you send it, we receive the email with your address and the attachments. We use them only to understand and fix the problem, and keep them only as long as that takes. You can ask us to delete them at any time.

TestFlight

If you use a beta through TestFlight, Apple may share with us the feedback and screenshots you send, crash reports and some device information, under Apple's privacy policy. We use them only to improve the app.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time what data we've received from you (in practice: only the emails you sent us) and ask us to delete it, by writing to support@getefimera.app.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
